To say that this page was a struggle to complete is an understatement! I really lost my momentum due to a combination of exhaustion, depression, and a lot of “real life” stuff that had to be tended to, all of which left me feeling less motivation to work on the comic, and a lot of indecision and doubt in my own abilities when I did start working on it again.

I found it ironic and a little spooky that I lost my artistic momentum on a page that features Steamroller Man also losing his forward momentum! It triggered a definite “light bulb” moment and made me realize that if Steamroller Man has a vulnerability, or an underlying greatest fear, it’s losing his ability to move forward.

I think I drew four or five layouts for this page before settling on this one, and even now I look at it and wonder if there was another layout solution that would have worked better. Self-doubt and uncertainty - ah, the life of an artist! In the end, I think it tells the story and I’m happy with how it looks, so that means it’s ready to publish.

In other news, I’ve started setting up a page for my Kickstarter campaign to print the first issue, and it has been difficult to balance doing that with actually working on this page. If you’d like to be notified when the Kickstarter launches, please join my mailing list at this link!

Also, I’ve taken down my Redbubble store due to changes in their policies, and set up a Spreadshop store! I’ve got three Steamroller Man designs up there at the moment, which you can put on t-shirts and stuff.

Thank you for your patience, and thanks for reading!
